The formula
MAKAUT subtracts 0.75 from your CGPA before multiplying by 10 — not a flat multiplier like some other universities use. A CGPA of 8.0 becomes (8.0 − 0.75) × 10 = 72.5%, not 80%. The same formula applies to your final DGPA (Discipline Grade Point Average), the cumulative figure printed on your consolidated grade card.

About MAKAUT
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (MAKAUT) was established in 2001 as the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) and renamed in 2017. It's the state's largest technical university, affiliating engineering, technology, management, pharmacy, and architecture colleges across West Bengal.
Unlike universities that award a First Class or Distinction on the final degree, MAKAUT's grading regulation does away with divisions altogether — the consolidated grade card reports only a DGPA and, when needed, its percentage equivalent.
