The formula

All 23 IITs grade CPI on a 10-point scale, so converting to a 4.0 GPA uses the same simple linear formula as any other 10-point CGPA: divide your CPI by 10, then multiply by 4. A CPI of 8.0 becomes (8.0 ÷ 10) × 4 = 3.20 GPA.
